Coconut is one of the major plantation crops in Sri Lanka which accounts for approximately 12% of all agricultural produce in Sri Lanka.
Total land area under cultivation is 395,000 hectares and about 2,500 million nuts are produced per year.
Semi husked coconut
coconut is semi-husked leaving a thin layer of coir, for protection of coconuts from heat and rough handling .
Fully husked coconut
coconut is fully husked leaving coir to cover only the three eyes.
Bald coconuts
coconuts are completely husked and cleaned of coir.
Coconuts are graded, packaged and transported as per the export country’s request.
